A-AA Upper State Championship Reminder to Coaches

Upper State Coaches,

I hope everything is going well for you and your team and want to wish Coach Westmoreland and the Wolverines best of luck in today’s duals championship. I am sure that they will represent the Upper State well today!

This is a quick reminder on some items and to point out a few details about tomorrow.

  1. We will weigh in by teams beginning at 4:00 sharp tomorrow afternoon.

  2. There will be a one pound allowance for weigh ins. Ex: 105 may be 106 on Friday and 107 on Saturday.

  3. Please use the back entrance (leads to the home football side) and park your buses in the bus parking lot on the hill behind the mini gym. (those of you who attended the seeding meeting it is directly behind our meeting room.

  4. Please send in your $50.00 entry fee to the AA conference of the SCHSL.(see attached).

  5. We will have a quick coaches meeting to point out any details at 5:00 and begin as closely to 5:30 as possible.

  6. Please have all wrestlers responsible for their own property! We will have security for the event, but your team needs to be responsible for their equipment and property!

  1. We will provide certified trainers for this event, but you must provide your own tape for this event.

  1. We will provide tables for your team to place food/coolers in the mini gym and would appreciate help keeping this area clean for the duration of the event. No coolers will be allowed in the main gym.

  1. We will provide a hospitality room for Coaches, table workers and officials only! We will provide pizza and subs (quick food) for Friday night, breakfast items and lunch on Saturday. Please do not abuse this privilege and restrict access to this room. I.E. My wife does not need to be the food police every moment for this tournament!

  1. I am trying to convert the seeding sheets to a format that will allow email for today, but may have to scan them to transmit! Be patient, we are teaching and working all day with limited planning time.

  1. Good sportsmanship is expected by all Coaches, wrestlers, and fans during this event.

In closing, our staff wants very much to make this a first class event celebrating the close of your wrestler’s season. If there is anything we can possibly do to help your team please let us know.

Thank you for allowing us the privilege of hosting the premiere event of the year!

Coach Steven Carruth, Broome High School Wrestling.
